General Rules and Regulations


Effective February 1, 2021

Sunset Park strives to preserve and maintain the beauty of the cemetery. To ensure the cemetery presents in a neat and orderly appearance, your adherence to the regulations listed will be appreciated. These regulations are also necessary to ensure the safety of visiting families and friends.

General Guidelines

  • Decorations and floral arrangements must be secured in regulation vases.
  • Glass, breakable objects, statues, containers, wire, sticks, toys, windmills, crosses, or any object placed or fixed on markers or graves are not permitted.
  • Funeral Service Flowers will be removed by cemetery personnel seven (7) days following the service.
  • Benches must be approved by cemetery personnel prior to installation. The bench must be constructed of concrete, metal, or granite.
  • The planting of live flowers or bushes is not permitted. 



  • No decorations or floral arrangements may overextend into adjoining crypt(s)/niche(s).
  • Decorations and floral arrangements must be secured in regulation vases.


Mowing Season

  • (Mar. 15 – Oct. 15) No flowers or objects that obstruct mowing and maintenance will be allowed.


Holiday Season Exceptions

  • Potted Plants & Flowers are permitted one week before and one week after Easter, Memorial Day (observed), Mother's Day and Father's Day.
  • During the holiday season (Nov. 20 - Jan. 30), artificial arrangements, such as Christmas trees, pots, wreaths, sprays, or easels may be placed on graves.


Sunset Park assumes no responsibility for items left on grave sites. Due to the open environment of the cemetery, we cannot prevent theft, vandalism, or the damaging effects of nature. Anyone who is caught stealing or vandalizing items from grave sites will be prosecuted.
