William "Red" Edward Southerland

William “Red” Edward Southerland, 72, and resident of Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at NHC nursing home in Lewisburg.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with Blake Fralix officiating. Burial will follow at Palmetto cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the service time.

Born May 14, 1954, in Pulaski, TN to the late William “Bruce” Southerland and Ellen Thompson Southerland. He married the love of his life Phyllis Beatty Southerland and spent 50 wonderful years together. Red was a simple man who could go with the flow and enjoyed fishing.

Red is survived by his wife, Phyllis Beatty Southerland; sons, Michael “Tiger” Southerland, Chad Southerland; sisters, Betty Jo (Robert) Fuller, Lawanda (Mark) Fralix; brothers, Houston Southerland, Dicky Southerland; sister in law, Connie Beatty; grandchildren, Casey Southerland, Celina Southerland, Victoria Southerland, Payton Southerland, Gabriel Southerland, Julian Southerland; great grandchild, Solaris Southerland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, William Bradley Southerland; brother, Gary Paul Southerland; sister, Joyce (Thomas) Banks, Mae Southerland, Tiny Southerland, Terry Beatty, Mike Beatty, Judy and Johnny Andrews.

Pallbearers will be Casey Southerland, Blake Fralix, Mitchell Southerland, Jeff Williams, Bobby Foster, Chad Southerland, and Mike Southerland. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Griffen and Eddie Cates.
