William “Bill” Taylor Maynard, a beloved husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 6, 1954, in Houston, Texas, and he filled his life with love, laughter, and a passion for all things tech.
Bill will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband to his wife, Jamie Weaver Maynard, and a loving father to his daughter, Jennifer Maynard. He shared a special bond with his sister-in-law, Anita Lee (Freddie). He is also survived by his sister, Anna Childress (George) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Ruth McCory McLean, his stepfather, Gene McLean, and brother Marty Maynard.
A spontaneous prankster at heart, Bill had a knack for bringing joy and laughter to his family, especially to his nieces and nephews, Dustin, Ben, Savannah, and the Childress family, with his playful spirit. He was an avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and spent many joyful days working on his woodworking projects, where he refined furniture and crafted meaningful pieces.
Bill had an infectious enthusiasm for life that extended to his passions for NASCAR and model cars, with whom he shared countless adventures at races alongside Jamie. His quirky collection of gnomes and light-up items will always be a testament to his unique character and joyful disposition.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jamie, daughter Jennifer, sister Anna (George), sister-in-laws Anita (Freddie) and Rita Anne Weaver, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Funeral services for Bill will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home, beginning at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend as we celebrate the life of a man who brought so much laughter and love to those around him. A visitation will be before the service from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
