William Holly

September 24, 1929 — May 10, 2011

William T. (Bill) Holly, age 81, formerly of Lewisburg passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at NHC- Place in Franklin, TN. A native of Marshall County, Mr. Holly was the son of the late James M. Holly, Sr. and Tomye Ownby Holly.

He served his country in the United States Air Force with the rank of Staff Sergeant earning the U. N. Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal. He retired from Heil-Quaker Corp. with 36 years of service and Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with 26 years of service. He was Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge and Past Commander of the VFW. He was a member of the Lewisburg Planning Commission for 12 years and a member of Lewisburg First United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother James M. Holly, Jr. and a sister Marjory Reynolds.

His wife Milbrey Joyce Holly of Franklin, two sons Dr. Rhea (Kim) Holly of Franklin and Paul Holly of Atlanta, GA and one sister Linda Wright of Lewisburg survive him.

Funeral services for Mr. Holly will be Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Mark Irvin, Leland Carden and Thomas B. Sumners officiating. Burial will take place at Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
