Mrs. Vera Lillian Curtis Curry, 86, retired from the dietary department of Oakwood Heathcare and resident of 6th Avenue South in Lewisburg,died Sunday,June 10,2007 at Marshall Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 12th at 2 P.M. from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Brother Ray Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg.The family will visit with friends on Monday starting at 4:00 P.M. at Bills-McGaugh.Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Bedford County native was the daughter of the late Eddie Thomas Curtis and Amanda Elizabeth Callahan Curtis and a graduate of Forrest High School in Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Curry was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lewisburg and taught Sunday School and kept the nursery for many years.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Laran 'Curly' Bradford of Lewisburg; a son and daughter-in-law,James Harold 'Jimmy' and Penny Curry, Jr. of Monroe, TN; a godson, Shane Bradford of Columbia;a sister, Mary Wilson of Peoria Heights, IL; four grandsons, Jason Curry,Dwayne Bradford, Jeffrey Bradford, and Gregory Melissa Bradford, all of Lewisburg; a granddaughter, Tiffany Josh Wentzel of Lewisburg; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Curry, Sr. in 1965; a son, Thomas Norris Curry in 1970; three sisters, Piney Curtis, Grace Matney, and Maggie Curtis; four brothers, Oscar Curtis, Mark Curtis, Bob Curtis, and George Curtis.

Pallbearers are Jason Curry, Dwayne Bradford, Jeffrey Bradford, Gregory Bradford, Jack Curtis, and Josh Wentzel.
