Timothy “Tim” Wayne Maxwell, 80, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026 peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born on November 18, 1945, in Garrett, Indiana, Tim was the son of the late Gordon Maxwell and the late Jeanette Roy Maxwell. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose warm personality and kind spirit touched the lives of many.
In 1965, Tim married the love of his life, Brenda Maxwell, and spent 60 wonderful years together Tim retired from Saturn, where he worked as a forklift operator. In his younger years, he was known for his athleticism and maintained a lifelong love of sports. He faithfully cheered for the Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Lions, and Gonzaga basketball. He especially enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether catfishing on any lake or river with his family or tending to his yard and plants, which he took great pride in.
Known for his outgoing personality, Tim never met a stranger. He often referred to himself as the "official greeter" at any church he attended, welcoming everyone with a smile and a friendly conversation. He was a man of the Methodist faith.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Maxwell; daughter, Amy (Benny) Clark; son, Jamie (Tanya West) Maxwell; grandchildren, Timmy, Audley, and Megan; several cherished great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Bosler.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to give special thanks to Andrew, Jennifer, Nicole, and Missy with Hospice Compassus for the care and compassion they showed Tim.
