Ruth Masters, a beloved wife, family member, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, on July 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew her. Born with a heart full of compassion, Ruth dedicated her life to her family and her faith in God.
As a caring and devoted wife of 38 years, Ruth cherished the moments spent with her husband, creating a lifetime of memories through travel and shared adventures, often capturing those experiences with her camera. Her joyful spirit shone brightly during family gatherings, where her love for her family flourished. Ruth ensured her grandsons were raised in faith, instilling values that would guide them throughout their lives, leading to cherished moments such as their baptisms.
Ruth had a deep appreciation for nature, particularly her love for flowers, which brightened her home and heart. She also had a passion for her horses, frequently attending horse shows to support her family members who participated in these events. Her bond with her dogs was equally special, particularly her dear companion, Sophie, whom she adored and lovingly pampered.
A playful soul at heart, Ruth had a passion for the game of jacks, achieving recognition as the 1954 State Jacks Champion, demonstrating her spirited competitiveness and love for fun.
Funeral services for Ruth Masters will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and will resume on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. The family wishes to recognize the Cornersville classes of 1958 and 1959 as honorary pallbearers.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Larry Masters, son, John (Angie) Williams, daughters, Angela (Evan) Willing and Rebecca (Daryl) Frazier, stepdaughter, Melissa (Billy) McHugh, brother, Paul (Sandra) Cook, sister, Pauline (Ted) Mullins, sisters-in-law, Sue Matlock and Linda (Benny) McBee, mother-in-law, Charlene Masters, 14 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Clark and Annie Brown James Cook, first husband, Gary C. Williams, and sister Mary Lou (Ed) Anderson.
Ruth will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
