Robert Lee Evans, 84, of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on July 26, 2026. A native of Henry County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Carl Atlas Evans and Frenzie Pearl McFarland Evans.

A master of his craft, he dedicated the majority of his working life running the corrugator at Mead Container in Lewisburg, TN. He was most proud of his perfect attendance during the 21 years preceding his retirement.

He enjoyed model trains, spending time with his many dogs through the years, playing the banjo and harmonica, and serving the Lewisburg community through small engine repair, also known to many as the “Lawn Mower Man”. He loved a good challenge when it came to fixing lawn mowers and related machinery.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sisters Virginia “Marie” Lowe and Patricia Ann Evans, brothers George “Tommy” Evans, Carl Atlas Evans, Jr., Donald Ray Evans, and one son-in-law Bobby Gene Hulshof, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Sally Lynn Karpus Evans; three children Janice (Kenny) Tucker of Goodlettsville, Anita Hulshof of Lewisburg, and Michael (Sylvia) Evans of Goodlettsville; sisters Margaret “Alene” Anderson of Paris, Mattie “Nona” Tyler of Dover, Rebecca Evans of Paris, Sarah Gross of Colfax, NC, and Teresa Faggart of Rockwell, NC; 5 grandchildren Christopher (Amy) Tucker of White House, Blake Tucker of Goodlettsville, Ainsley Hulshof of Lewisburg, Adam Hulshof of Lewisburg, and Kaylee Evans of Goodlettsville; two great-grandchildren Madilynn and Noah Tucker of White House and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend and companion, his dog Gabe.

A celebration of Roberts’s life will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, memories, and laughter, much like Robert would have enjoyed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewisburg Animal Shelter, Nashville Rescue Mission, or another charity of your choosing to honor his generous spirit.
