Rick Dodson

Ricky Edward Dodson passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at the age of 70.

Rick was born on September 8, 1955. He was known for his playful personality, his sense of humor, and his ability to make the people around him laugh. A true cut-up at heart, Rick enjoyed joking around, telling stories, and having a good time with family and friends. He was willing to lend a helping hand, share a good story, and spend time with the people who mattered to him. He also had an infectious smile and a warm demeanor that made him easy to remember and hard to forget.

Rick had a love for his family and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. His grandbabies held a special place in his heart, and the memories they shared will be treasured for years to come.

Rick also had a passion for fishing and especially enjoyed spending time at Clear Creek Lake. Whether he was fishing, relaxing, or enjoying the company of others, the lake was a place where he found happiness and created many good memories.

Rick is survived by his children, Tara Lashwood (Bryan), Jennifer Brook Seymour (Rod), and Sheldon Dodson; his brother, Scott Dodson (Charlotte); his sister, Patty Blalock-Parsons (Hillard); his grandchildren, Arianna, Alex, and Sarah; his nieces and nephews, Kris Blalock (Kara), Tyler Blalock (Kendra), and Maria Stinnett (Gary); several great-nieces and great-nephews; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Edward Dodson; his mother, Hazel Virginia Clifton Hasty; and his nephew, Josh Dodson.

A visitation and memorial service celebrating Rick’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5:30 PM and continue until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:00 PM.

Rick will be remembered for his laughter, his playful spirit, his infectious smile, his love of fishing, and the memories he made with the people who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but the stories, laughter, and memories he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
