Nancy Elizabeth Ownby

Nancy Elizabeth Ownby, born on January 7, 1947, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her unwavering love and devotion to her family and community.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Barry Anthony Ownby; her daughter, Kellie (Bruce) Davidson; her son, Eric (Toby) Ownby; her adored grandchildren, Rachel Davidson, Michael Davidson, Tomi (Dylan) Spring, and Sami Ownby; and her sister, Cindy (Ron) Ratcliff. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lorene Thole; her brother, Frederick Thole; and her sister, Connie Thole.

Throughout her life, Nancy embraced her passions and her faith as a devoted member of the Baptist community. She found joy in sailing with her friends, affectionately known as “The Pirates,” and cherished summer nights at the lake. Nancy was deeply involved in her church family at First Baptist Concord in Farragut, TN, where she contributed her time and energy to the Legacy Builders class, Vacation Bible School, and various church functions. Sunday nights spent sharing pizza with her FBC friends brought her immense happiness.

Professionally, Nancy dedicated many years of her career to Jacobs Engineering, where she served as a Human Resources Manager and was lovingly referred to as “Mom” by colleagues and friends. 

Nancy's life radiated joy and love, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.

In honor of Nancy's life, her family will have a graveside service at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 2:00 PM. 

Nancy will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the many lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.
