Mary Sue ' 'Memaw Thompson

Mrs. Mary Sue MeMaw Cummings Thompson, age 89 of Lewisburg, died Thursday morning in Marshall Medical Center. A native of the Talley Station Community, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Dixie Lee Callahan Cummings, a homemaker and a member of the Church St. Church of Christ. She was a child caregiver for many years, caring for them in her home. She was always open to visitors and treated them like family. Mrs. Thompson is survived by a son: John Thomas Thompson of Lewisburg; a daughter: Gayle Thompson Hardison of Virginia Beech, VA; and a sister: Mrs. Ruth C. McLean of Lewisburg. Four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Stanley Thompson in 1988; and three sisters: Flora Wells, Robbie Marsh, and Mazelle Darnell. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 7:00 PM, and Saturday until the funeral hour.
