Mary Frank Cathey

December 1, 1913 — January 11, 2005

Mrs. Mary Frank Hunter Cathey, age 91, died Tuesday morning in Verona, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Cathey was the daughter of the late Frank Witherspoon and Myrtie Montgomery Hunter, a homemaker, and a life-long member of the United Methodist Church in Verona.. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Lee Cathey, Jr.

Mrs. Cathey is survived by five children: Frank Laura Cathey of Columbia, Bob Cathey, Camille Bill Turner, and Love Joe Smith all of Lewisburg, and Mary Lou Roy Warren of Calera, AL; a brother: Donald Hunter; and two sisters: Grace Hunter Ewing and Martha Hunter, all of Lewisburg; nine grandchildren: Cathey Jordan, Elizabeth Frey, Will Turner, Jenna Wilson, Kate Vandivort, Bart Allen, Elaine Cost, Matt Cathey, and Lee Perryman; and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cathey will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Larry Pedigo. Burial will follow in McCurdy Cemetery at Verona.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4:00 8:00 PM at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, and again on Thursday until the funeral hour.

Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mrs. Cathey.
