Maggie Lee “Nana” Holt Hopwood, 85, lifelong resident of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at
Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Pulaski.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton
Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Candler officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family
will visit with friends Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home.

She was born on February 15, 1940 in Marshall County, TN to the late Allen Deward Holt and the late
Annie Rydner Holt. On September 20, 1958 she married Billy Wayne Hopwood and he preceded her in
death on February 4, 2017. She retired from Cosmolab and afterwards worked several years at Marshall
Medical Center in the materials management and dietary departments. Maggie was known by her
sense of humor, sharp wit, and speaking her mind. She loved reading, going out to eat with her family,
spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved her best friend and
protector, her dog Buddy. Maggie was a longtime member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Janice (Glenn) Buckman of Lewisburg; son Mikael Holt Hopwood (Terry)
of Lewisburg; daughter-in-law Teresa McCord Hopwood Spivey of Lewisburg; grandchildren,
Kristan Hollingsworth King (Preston Green), Kamron Hollingsworth (Jessie Robison), Steven Tanner
Hopwood, Maria Kate Hopwood, Haley Hopwood, Alanna Hopwood, Cortney Buckman, and Christopher
Buckman; great grandchildren, Gavin King, Landric Harmon, Sabra Irick, Kinley Hollingsworth, and Tessa
Omohundra; two brothers, Dan Holt and David Holt; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Steven Anthony
Hopwood on March 27, 2017 and ten brothers and sisters.
Active pallbearers will be Kamron Hollingsworth, Preston Green, Steve McMillin, Tanner Hopwood,
Gavin King, and Randy George. Honorary pallbearer will Glenn Buckman and alternate pallbearer will be
Terry Lewter.
