Mae Southerland

With her family surrounding her, Mae Southerland, age 48 of Belfast, died Tuesday evening at her residence. Mae was a native of Giles County, daughter of the late Mitchell and Ava Mae Walker Price, and a former employee of Cosmolab. She is survived by her husband of 31 years: Charles Dickey Southerland of Belfast; two sons: John Jeremy Jay Southerland of Willoughby, OH and Mitchell Southerland of Belfast; 3 sisters: Linda Price Rawlin of Columbia, Kathy Luna of Cornersville, and Kay Lynley of Lewisburg; 4 brothers: Danny Price and David Price of Lewisburg, Jerry Dale Price of Giles County, and Johnny Price of Alabama; and her mother-in-law: Ellen Southerland of Lewisburg. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Elkton. The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday for visitation, and Friday morning until the funeral hour. Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mae.
