Linda Kay Smith, born on November 14, 1951, peacefully passed away on May 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She was a cherished member of the Church of Christ, where her faith guided her throughout her life.
Graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Lone Oak Cemetery, with Floyd Smith officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 11:00 pm until the time of the graveside service.
Linda and her beloved husband, Don, shared over 40 wonderful years together, serving as a perfect example of true partnership. She was unwavering in her affection, often expressing her love with the heartfelt words, "I love you," until she heard those same words returned. Linda's love did not stop with Don; she embraced her family wholeheartedly, nurturing connections that will be cherished for generations.
An avid fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, Linda's spirit shone through in both her passions and interests. She enjoyed indulging in Westerns, game shows, and reliving the classic tale of "Gone With the Wind." A devoted reader, she also found joy in the pages of Stephen King's novels and was a fan of the captivating melodies of Elvis Presley.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, William “Don” Prier, stepdaughters, Angie Burditt (Brian), Melissa Highfill, and Alicia Jones (Buford), niece, Alisha Jett (Ernest) and Caitlyn Parks (Tevonta), sister-in-law, Carolyn Moore, brother-in-law, Wayne Prier (Mary), 16 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Elizabeth Ann Neece Smith and her sisters, Carol Brown, Barbara Martin, and Beverly Jett.
Linda will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering love for her family, and her zest for life.
