Leslie Woodward passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 71. He was born August 7, 1952, in Lewisburg, TN to Abe and Joy Wilkes Woodward.

Known for his long hair and token bandanna, Les embodied the free-spirited essence of a true hippie. His love for peace, harmony, and adventure was evident in every aspect of his life. He found joy in the simplest pleasures of life, enjoying the outdoors, and taking a ride in his truck with his favorite white dog. 

A dedicated sports fan, Leslie passionately supported both Vanderbilt University and Marshall County High School athletics. His competitive spirit and unwavering loyalty to his favorite teams inspired all who knew him.

A fiercely competitive individual, Leslie approached life with determination and tenacity. His mantra, "Don't start none. Won't be none," served as a reminder of his no-nonsense attitude and his refusal to back down from a challenge.

Hero had a profound love for Jamaica, boasting 19 trips to the island paradise where he connected with the culture, music, and people- earning his title of Hero Mon. 

A dedicated citizen of the community, Les served as the former chairman of the Lewisburg Parks and Recreation board and was the owner of Red Top Deli for many years. His contributions to the community were immeasurable, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Leslie is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his son, Chad Woodward (Alyce Cantrell Woodward); daughters, Mia Smith (Brandon Smith) and Angela Wallace; sisters, Melanie Gordon (late Joe Gordon) and Shannon McBryde (John McBryde); grandchildren, Demi Dean, Presley Pitts, Karson Smith, Marlee Woodward, Mallory Woodward, and Marissa Woodward; great-grandchildren, Rylan Maynard and Makenna Russell.

Funeral Service will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Bills McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with burial following at Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27. 2023 at Bills McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home and will resume at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2024, until the funeral hour of 12:00 PM. The family has requested for everyone to wear tie-dye or casual attire to the service in honor of Leslie's memory. Memorials may be made in Leslie's memory to Lewisburg Recreation Center.  

Leslie is leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Though he may be gone, his  hippie spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
