It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathy Ruth Griffin, aged 69, who departed this life peacefully at her home in Petersburg, Tennessee, on April 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 22, 1956, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Kathy was a bright light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kathy dedicated many years of her life to her career at National Pen Corporation in Shelbyville, where her warmth and kindness made a lasting impact on her colleagues and clients alike. Upon her retirement, she cherished every moment spent at home with her devoted husband, Roy Griffin. Together, they created a loving sanctuary filled with laughter, joy, and countless memories.

Kathy’s passion extended to family gatherings, where she relished sharing meals and creating new memories. An admirer of hummingbirds and wildflowers, she found beauty in the simple pleasures of life. Her infectious laugh and welcoming spirit touched the hearts of everyone she met, exemplifying her belief that no one was a stranger.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband, Roy Griffin; her children, Sheri (Donnie) Elder and Christopher Schultz; her cherished granddaughter, Ashlyn (Frankie) Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Anistyn, and Alayna Jones. She also leaves behind her sister, Ramona Osborne, and nephew, Nick (Dasza) Osborne. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Collins Tallent; her father, Claude Holt; her nephew, Stanley Ross Emerson; and her grandparents, David Collins and Ruth Pruitt Collins.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, memories, and laughter, much like Kathy would have enjoyed. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Lucky's Cat House in 1191 E Commerce Street Lewisburg, TN, website https://www.luckyscathouse.org honoring Kathy’s love for animals and her compassionate spirit.

Kathy Ruth Griffin will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
