Born on January 24, 1943, Joyce was the daughter of the late Willie Doke and Ventura Smith Franklin. A graduate of David Lipscomb College, Joyce devoted her life to faith, family, and service. She married the love of her life, Benny Burns, on September 14, 1963, and together they built a beautiful life. Under her care and leadership, the daycare became a trusted and beloved part of the community. Her commitment to providing a safe, loving environment for children lives on today through the center, which continues under the leadership of her children.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Her presence brought comfort, and her gentle guidance left a lasting imprint on the many lives she touched.
