John Carpenter

Mr. John Ewing Carpenter, age 59 of Atlanta, GA, died Friday evening in the Dunwoody Medical Center in Dunwoody, GA. A native of Marshall County, John was raised in the Atlanta area. He was the eldest son of the late Ira Harlon and Margaret Ewing Carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ. He graduated from Georgia Tech in 1967 and served 6 years in the Army Reserve. He is survived by his son: John Paul Carpenter of Smyrna, GA; a brother: Randy Carpenter of Lawrenceville, GA; and a special friend: Mildred Smith of Georgia. The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday for visitation. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Morton Cemetery in the Berlin Community.
