Biography



James Allen Savage, age 70 of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Savage was a native of Giles County, TN and was the son of the late John Westley Savage and Margaret "Margie" Elizabeth Griffis Savage. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Wayne and George Allen Savage. He retired from Ryder Trucking and was a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church.

Mr. Savage is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Alice Faye Tomlinson Savage of Maury County; three sons, Terry (Lisa) Savage of Chapel Hill, Mark (Betty) Savage of Maury County, and John Timothy (Julie May Johnson) Savage of Maury County; one daughter, Alice Ann (Tracy) Smith of Spring Hill; two brothers, Dale (Donna) Savage and Johnny (Janet) Savage; four sisters, Faye (Harold) Price, Katie Fowler, Betty Mae Wales, and Connie Morris; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with John House and Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Diana Cemetery in the Diana Community. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 4 PM until 8 PM, and again on Sunday, beginning at 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
