James “Jim” Loren Bowerman, 71, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away on January 8, 2025. Born on August 21, 1953, in Hastings, Michigan to the late James and Annetta Bowerman.
A graduate of Hastings High School, James spent seven years of his career working at a manufacturing company before finding his true calling as a painter and wallpaper installer, a role he embraced as a self-employed craftsman. In 2004, he relocated to Tennessee, where he would later meet the love of his life, Carol, in 2014. Carol described James as her soulmate and the love of her life.
Jim was known for his kindness, generosity, and infectious sense of humor. His witty teasing and playful banter brought joy to those around him. A true enthusiast of life, he had a passion for chewy sour candy, golfing, fishing, and watching sports. He cherished the simple pleasures, often seen driving his convertible with the top down, embracing the open road and the beauty of each day.
He leaves behind his fiancé, Carol Grant; sister Anita (Phil) Hickerson and Laurie Kidder; many cousins and nieces; his dog, Jake Bowerman and several cherished friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Terry Hickerson; and his niece, Jennifer White.
Jim Bowerman's legacy of kindness and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
