Harvey Allison

Mr. Harvey Ewing Allison, age 79 of Lewisburg, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009 at NHC-Oakwood.

A native of Davidson County, he was the son of the late John Richard Allison and Mintie Ewing Allen Allison. He was retired from the Eaton Corporation as a tool supplier and was a former employee of Faber Castell. He was a graduate of Forrest High School and attended Tennessee Tech University. He was a charter member of the Lewisburg Kiwanis Club, an ordained Southern Baptist deacon, and a member of the East Commerce Baptist Church. He was active in numerous disaster relief efforts through both the Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief Program and the Kiwanis Club.

His parents, a brother, John Richard Allison Jr. and a son-in-law, William Thomas Fox, precede Mr. Allison in death.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Harmond Allison of Lewisburg, one daughter Amy Allison Fox of Brentwood, one sister, Nan Marvin Bates of Lawrenceville, GA and one brother, James K. Allison of Chapin South Carolina. Two grandsons, William Allen Fox and James Thomas Fox, several nieces and one nephew also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Allison will be conducted on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with Reverends Carl Price and James Hickey officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Alzheimer's Association or the East Commerce Baptist Church Building Fund.
