George Welch

George Edgar Welch, age 73 of Franklin, died Tuesday morning in Williamson County Medical Center. Mr. Welch was a native of Marshall County, son of the late Charles Herman & Pearl Duggan Welch and a member of the Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Frances Jones Welch, and a son: George Anthony Tony Welch in 2003. He is survived by his wife: Cathy Auge Welch of Franklin; a daughter: Babbette Babs Steele of Lebanon; a step-daughter: Brandy Bain of Nashville; a step-son: Roger Sensing of Carthage; 4 grandchildren: Damon Steele, Abey Welch, Hazel Welch and Pearl Welch; and 2 step-grandchildren: Keenan Bain and Jessica Sensing. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday for visitation, and Friday until the funeral hour. Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mr. Welch.
