George Thomas ' 'Tommy Wade

September 22, 1928 — August 9, 2003

Lewisburg resident George Thomas Tommy Wade, age 74, died Saturday morning in NHC-Oakwood.

A native of Marshall County, Mr. Wade was the son of the late Roscoe Eugene Wade and Martha Wade Harper, and a member of the Church Street Church of Christ. He retired from Jamison Bedding Company in Franklin, where he had served as Treasurer and Executive Vice President of Finance. Tommy was a member of the Chapel Hill Lions Club and was honored as a Melvin Jones Fellow from Lions International. He served on the Board of Directors at First State Bank in Chapel Hill, and was also a member of the Lewisburg Elks Lodge, the Lewisburg Masonic Lodge, and the Al Menah Temple Shriners.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Billie Ruth Wade of Lewisburg; two daughters: Cindy Howard and Lori Caldwell both of Knoxville; a brother: Harold Bud Wade of Lewisburg; and two grandchildren: Tracy Howard and Wade Caldwell, both of Knoxville.

Funeral services for Mr. Wade will be conducted Monday at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.

The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home after 4:00 PM Sunday for visitation, and Monday until the funeral hour.
