Elbalene Thompson

Elbalene Burgett Thompson, age 71 of Belfast, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
Mrs. Thompson was a native of the Delina Community, the daughter of the late Calvin Burgett and Verdie Lott Burgett. She was also preceded in death by her son, J. C. Smith, one sister, Laurece Collins, and one brother, Carlos Burgett. She worked for J. R. Moon for many years and was a member of LifeSong Family Church.
Survivors include two sons, Paul and David Smith of Lewisburg; two daughters, Jeannie (Jeff) Reese and Jamie (Boochie) McDaniel, both of Lewisburg; two sisters, Melba Clark and Wanda Cantrell; two brothers, A. G. and Tommy Burgett; six grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Smith of Shelbyville, Brittany Smith of Columbia, Crystal Reese of Pulaski, Dutch Church, Billy Church, and Ryan McDaniel, all of Lewisburg; seven great-grandchildren, Hanah, Lisa, Haley, Candice, Robert, Judy, and Keegan.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11 AM in the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery in the Caney Spring Community. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 4 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
