Earl David Cooper

Earl David Cooper Sr. left this world on June 26, 2025, at the age of 91. He was born on March 16, 1934, to Hudson and Clair Bell Tedder Cooper.

Earl spent many years driving a concrete mixer truck and a block truck for Tankersley Concrete, where he honed his skills in concrete work. He was skilled in concrete, electricity, and mechanical work. His dedication to his crafts was evident. He took great pride in his trade, and it was no surprise that some of his sons followed in his footsteps, embracing their own careers with the same passion and diligence. After retiring, Earl found joy in lawnmower repair, where he continued to lend his hands and skills to those in need. He was always lending a helping hand, and that spirit extended beyond his work. For a time, he also shared his wisdom and faith by teaching Sunday school, leaving a positive mark on the lives of many young people.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Annie Laura Cooper; sons, Randall David Cooper and Kenneth Earl Cooper; daughters, Patricia Gayle Cooper and Sharon Kaye Lane; brothers, Clark Cooper, McNeil Cooper, and Robert Bryant Cooper; and sisters, Mai Cooper and Viola Davenport. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Anthony Cooper of Magee, MS and Earl David Cooper Jr. of Tallahassee, FL; and sisters Elizabeth Holder of Lewisburg, TN and Alta Sue Bryant of Auburntown, TN. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025. In this time of sorrow, we find solace in knowing that Earl's spirit will live on in our hearts and in the stories we share for years to come. Rest in peace, Earl. You will be missed dearly.
