It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Duane Priske, a true original, who left us on June 3, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 1, 1948, Duane lived a life full of passion, laughter, and the occasional grumpiness that earned him his affectionate nickname, “Grumpy Old Man.” Though he might have come off as a bit grumpy, he’d give you the shirt off his back if you needed it – a trait that endeared him to all who knew him.
Duane was a man of many loves but held a special place in his heart for his Harley Davidson, which he rode with pride, feeling the wind in his hair and the freedom of the open road. He was a Golden Glove Boxer in Wisconsin, he was known for his tough exterior but a heart of gold. An avid outdoorsman, Duane found joy in deer hunting, relishing the quiet of the woods and the thrill of the chase. He was a hard worker who never shied away from a challenge, and his dedication to his craft inspired those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Duane leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable stories that will be cherished by family and friends. His one-of-a-kind spirit will be missed more than words can express.
Duane is survived by his companion, Elizabeth E Corbin; daughters, Lorna Bacle, Tracey Bender (Bill), and Wendy Gold (Steve); grandchildren: Alex and Logan Gold, Ashley Bender, Zachary, Colton and Ronan Bacle; bonus children and, Michael Cozart and Michelle Cozart; sister, Darlene Priske; bonus grandchildren, Luckie, Brooke, Destiny, Savon, and Blake; longtime friend, Lon Shrader (Kim); and his dogs, Mighty Mouse and Albert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Eleanor Knob Priske and his #1 mechanic/bestfriend Timmy Robinson.
Funeral services will be held in Duane's honor on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM also at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday at 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.
