Biography
Dorothea Morgan Oaks, age 103, of Chapel Hill, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014, at her residence. A native of Frankfort, Indiana, Mrs. Oaks was the daughter of the late Vern Morgan and Beatrice Powell Morgan. She was in retail and a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Oakes, who passed away in 1996.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Malia (Jimmy) Reed of Chapel Hill and Lisa Michon of Nashville; one grandson, Kevin (Cathy) Wilson of Sparta, eleven great- grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
The family will hold private services at a later date.
