Charlie Griffis

Mr. Griffis died Thursday evening in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. A resident of Columbia, he was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church of Lewisburg and served his country in World War II with the United States Navy. He was formerly employed with Lewisburg Casting Company and Durango Boot Company. He was the son of the late Judson and Laura Mae Womble Griffis, and was preceded in death by his wife: CLara Ruth Griffis in 1997. He is survived by two sons and a daughter: Charles Wayne Griffis, Phillip Ray Griffis, and Linda Deering, all of Columbia; and a sister: Catherine Jett of Petersburg, 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
