Charles Anthony Bolton

Charles Anthony “Tony” Bolton, age 71, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Tony was born on September 9, 1954, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, to the late John C. Bolton and Helen Isabell Bolton. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1972 and went onto dedicate many years of service to Marshall County Utilities, where he retired after a faithful career.

Tony was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 41 years, Mary Jean Bolton, who survives him. Together they built a life centered around faith, family, and love. He is preceded in death by his parents, John C. Bolton and Helen Isabell Bolton, as well as several aunts and uncles. Left to cherish his memory are his children; his beloved fur baby, Angel Rose; Shelley (Kenny) Asbury, Johnathan (Angie) Bolton, Jeff (Jeannie) Reese, Jeanna Hargrove, Jill (Eric) Harris, and Jennifer (Tommy) Dalton.

He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Stacie Asbury, Kevin (Lindsey) Asbury, Randy (Nichole) Asbury, Josh Hargrove, Jessica (Francisco) Hargrove, Nicky Brenner, Ashley (Brandon) Fritts, Samantha Reese, Crystal Reese, Dutch Church, Billy (Kristen) Church, Hanah Smith, Robert Smith, Dakota Brown, Tabitha (Justin) Duke, Courtney (Kyle) Wright, and Kaiden Bolton; along with 32 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. All of whom brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his brothers, Wayne (Jaunita) Bolton and Mike Bolton, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Tony was a man of strong faith. He worshipped for many years at Ellington Parkway First Church of God before later attending Parkway Baptist Church. His faith guided the way he lived his life and love he showed to those around him.

Anyone who knew Tony knew how deeply he loved his family. He was happiest when surrounded by the people he loved most. He was an avid Tennessee Vols football fan, rarely missed cheering on the Vols, and always enjoyed listening to his favorite band, Huey Lewis and The Muse. His sense of humor and unwavering love for his family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the family he loves so dearly and the countless memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home.
