Cecil Sowell

Mr. Cecil Sowell, age 81 of the Spring Place Community, died Thursday afternoon in Marshall Medical Center. He was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Thomas E. & Jenny Mae Ervin Sowell, and retired as a Factory Auditor with Heil-Quaker Corporation, where he served for 43 years. Mr. Sowell was also a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge 74 and the Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Melissa Tallman in 1998. He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Juanita Rhodes Sowell; a daughter: Rita Gayle Tallman, both of the Spring Place Community; a son: Gary Sowell of Nashville; 3 grandchildren: Tonya Adams, Tina Baxter, and Michael Wayne Tallman; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with burial in the Short Cemetery. The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 6:00 9:00 PM Friday for visitation, and again on Saturday until the funeral hour.
