Cathy Marie Buttrey

Cathy "Cat" Marie Buttrey, born on August 25, 1989, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, left this world unexpectedly on June 6, 2025. She spent her life in Lewisburg, Tennessee, where she created countless memories with her family, friends, and loved ones. Cat is survived by her father, Herman Buttrey, and her mother, Tina Roberts.

Cat was known for her vibrant spirit and her love for her boys. She was a wonderful person whose hard-headed nature often shone through her artistic endeavors. An artist at heart, Cat had a unique ability to capture beauty, and her photogenic qualities reminded those around her of the joy and sparkle in her eyes when she was happy. Despite life’s challenges, her desire to be loved was a testament to her strength and resilience; always searching for connections and the love that everyone deserves.

She is survived by her parents; son, Damien Blackwell and Tristan Blackwell; brothers, Kolby Buttrey and Kaden Roberts; sisters, Casey Roberts and Destinee Roberts; maternal grandmother, Cathy Blocker; aunts; uncles; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Herman and Dorothy Buttrey and a cousin, Thomas Michael West Jr.

A celebration of Cat’s life will be held at Caney Springs Pentecostal Holliness Assembly Church, on Hwy 99 in Chapel Hill on July 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Doris Sparks performing the service.

Cathy "Cat" Marie Buttrey will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
