Betty L. Lake Barnes

Betty L. Barnes, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at her residence in Lewisburg, TN. She was born in Grafton, WV on November 9, 1931 to the late Calvin and Jennie Layman Lake. Betty spent her working years in the Nursing profession. She loved her grandchildren, baseball, birds and flowers. Betty was preceded in death, along with her parents, by four brothers and a sister. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence B. (Brax) Barnes, children, Bill (Angie) Barnes, Bob Barnes, Brenda (Roger) Scruggs, Alice White, a sister, Patricia Wing all of Lewisburg, TN, six grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Welgan, Tampa, FL, Roger (Rachelle) Scruggs, Jr., Nashville, TN, Ben (Ashlee) Barnes, Murfreesboro, TN, Brad Barnes, Spring Hill, TN, Brent (Jorden) Barnes, Lewisburg, TN, Knox Barnes, Lewisburg, TN, and seven great-grandchildren. A Memorial Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Marshall County Tiger Baseball Team, MCHS, c/o Carol Spence, 661 West Ellington Parkway, Lewisburg, TN 37091.
