Anthony "Tony" McConnell

Anthony “Tony” McConnell of Cornersville, died on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Vanderbilt Hospital.

A funeral service for Mr. McConnell will be held Friday, March 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with Brother Arthur Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Born on February 12, 1956 in Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Mr. Buford McConnell and Mrs. Barbara Webster McConnell of Cornersville. Tony loved to water ski and was very good at it. Tony’s friends gave him the nickname of “Show-Off”. He cherished his children and grandchildren, and always said that “trucking was his life”.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara; daughters, Angela (Judd Olszowka) McConnell of Cullman, AL and Antonia Grey McConnell of Cornersville; son, Jason (Brittani) Starr of Lewisburg; sister, Brenda (Billy) Hasting of Cornersville; and granddaughters, Tilly Olszowka, Brianna Starr, and Lillian Starr. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a nephew, Bill Hasting.
