Anita Joyce

Anita R. Joyce, age 74, passed away on September 7, 2026. Born on May 4, 1952, Anita was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, cherished by her family for her sweet nature and unwavering hard work. She had a passion for fishing and gardening, creating beauty in both her home and in nature. An animal lover at heart, Anita always had a dog by her side, with her last beloved companion, Rio, bringing her much joy.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Royce C. and Geneva V. Simmons Hickson. She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Mitchell, her son, Casey Joyce, and her sisters, Emily King and Phyllis Tipton (Richard). Additionally, she will be dearly missed by her granddaughter, Brittany Newcomb (Layne), her great-grandchildren, Hayes Newcomb and Annalee Newcomb, and numerous extended family members.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Park. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the same day. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate Anita's wonderful life.
