Wilma Cheatham

Mrs. Wilma Potts Cheatham, age 77 of Brentwood, TN, formerly of Lewisburg, died Saturday at her residence. She was a native of Maury County, daugher of the late William Robert Dee and Minnie Beckenbach Potts, a retired nurse, and a member of the Eastern Star and the Brentwood Baptist Church. Adored by her family, she was a 'Child of God, Christian, Mother, Sister, Wife, Daughter & Friend. Nurse, Artist, Collector, Antiquer, Furniture Refinisher, Gardener, Cook & Reader. Creative, Strong-willed, Determined, Disciplined, Shy, Kind, Outspoken & Candid. All of these and so much more.' A Celebration of the Life of Mrs. Cheatham will be conducted Monday, April 1 at 12:00 Noon from the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home. The service will include a prelude of 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' and 'What a Friend We Have In Jesus' by Dave Briley. Personally selected by Mrs. Cheatham, 'When Earth's Last Picture is Painted, 1892' L'envoi to 'The Seven Seas' will be read, followed by selected scriptures: 2 Cor 12:9, Jer. 29: 11-13, and John 14:1-4. The Eulogy will be brought by her former and current pastors, Rev. Paul Woodford and Rev. Jim Jenkins. The Benediction and postlude will conclude the service. Her daughter, Judy Cheatham of Brentwood, and sister, Betty Hay of Columbia, with extended family and friends, will walk the short distance to the gravesite in Sunset Park Cemetery where Mrs. Cheatham will be laid to rest beside her husband, Ray Lee Cheatham, who preceded her in 1993.
