William Eldridge, Sr

Mr. William Kent Eldridge, Sr., age 93 of Nashville, died Tuesday morning in Richland Place in Nashville.
A native of the Spring Place community of Marshall County, Mr. Eldridge was the last of six children of the late William B. and Carrie Kerr Eldridge, and a member of the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a sales representative with National Life Insurance Company, and a skilled craftsman.
On November 14, 1937, he married Elizebeth Bradford. To their union, they were blessed with three children. He provided for his family as a sales representative for National Life Insurance Company. A career from which he retired. In addition to his family, he was blessed with the ability to create, and developed those abilities into becoming a skilled craftsman. As the children grew, Mr. Eldridge took his place in life that every father dreams about, becoming a grandfather and great-grandfather. Family gatherings were filled with opportunities to be caught on camera with 'Pa.' In service to his Lord, Mr. Eldridge was a member of the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
The family that loved him so includes his devoted wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Bradford Eldridge; his son, William Kent Elaine Eldridge, Jr.; and two loving daughters, Eve Ted Saal and Sheryl Wade, all of Nashville. 'Pa' is also survived by five grandchildren, Seth Cunningham, Bradie Wade, Evie Wade Byers, Tracy Barry, and Kelly Shepard; and seven great-grandchildren, Ellen Ruth Byers, Lauren Elizabeth Byers, Nicholas Shepard, Morgan Shepard, Allie Shepard, Emily Fike, and Sidney Barry.
Services celebrating Mr. Eldridge's life will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 PM, by Rev. Denny Shepard, from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Short Cemetery in the Spring Place community.
The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday for visitation.
