Vinson Young, Jr

January 25, 1920 — September 16, 2003

Mr. Vinson H. Young, Jr., age 83 of Lewisburg, died Tuesday morning in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Mr. Young was a native of Alabama, son of the late Vinson H. Young Sr. and Gertrude Park Young. He was retired from Dairyman Inc, where he was a machine operator, and was an active member of the Farmington United Methodist Church. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by a brother: David Young and a sister: Lora Nell Fagan.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Brown Young; and a son: Ronald Brown Young, both of Lewisburg; one grandson: Greggory Brown Young; 2 great-granddaughters: Alexiss Young and Jordan Young; 4 sisters: Elizabeth Eley of Montgomery AL, Mattie McEntyre of Columbia, Peggy Jo Haygood of NC, and Charlotte Ann Holly of Mt. Juliet; one brother: William Billy Young of Pulaski.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 AM by Rev. Larry Pedigo, from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Andrews-Liggett Cemetery with military honors.

The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home after 5:00 PM Wednesday for visitation.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the Farmington United Methodist Church.
