Mrs. Vernia Bryant George, age 93, of Lewisburg, passed away
on December 13, 2009, at her residence at Village Manor.
A native of Lincoln County, she was the daughter of Ora Lee Buchanan and Tom Bryant. She retired from the Marshall County School System as a part of the lunch room staff. She was also a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg.
Mrs. George is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James "Bill" George 1980, a daughter, Phylis Cross 1989, two sisters, Ruth Scott and Virginia Sherwood.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Vera George of Manchester, TN, and Ralph Donna Kay George of Hopkinsville, KY. Grandsons Keith in Iraq, Mark, Steve, Brett & Matthew George and granddaughters Ivy Jernigan & Nicole Cross, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a brother-in-law, Ted George, and numerous special nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. George will be conducted on Saturday, December 19, 2009, 1:00 from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, December 18, 2009, from 4:00 until 8:00
