Mrs. Sarah Ruth Rutledge Thompson, age 86 of Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Mrs. Thompson was a native of Marshall County. She was retired from Faber-Castell and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lewisburg.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Thompson 1973, parents; Otis Rutledge and Mecie Smith Rutledge, daughter; Juanita Thompson Wheeler 2007, brothers; J.B.Rutledge, Franklin Rutledge, Smith Rutledge, James Larry Rutledge, sisters; Mildred Tate, Evelyn Parks, Bobbie Joyce Oliver, Geraldean & Charldean Rutledge, Mary Ann Rutledge.

Survivors include two daughters Barbara John Boyett of Lewisburg and Patricia Richard Bibb of Nashville, son-in-law; Wayburn Wheeler,
one sister; Frances Christmas of Lewisburg, two brothers; Delano and Roosevelt Rutledge both of Nashville. Other survivors include 4 grandchildren, Andrea Jones of Murfreesboro, Kathy Adams of Lewisburg, Clint Boyett of Cookeville and Julie Rylander of Chester, Virginia. Six great grandchildren, Alex, Whitney, and Jacob Jones, Ryleigh and Jackson Boyett and Sophie Rylander.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Thompson will be conducted on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday, May 10, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
