Roy Murrell

Roy Edward Murrell, age 78 of Lewisburg, died Friday afternoon in Marshall Medical Center.
The Lawrence Co native was the son of the late Calvin Taylor and Mary Dooley Murrell. He had been a self employed construction worker until his health failed, and more recently had been a custodian in the Marshall County Court House. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the United States Army, and a member of the East Commerce Baptist Church.
Mr. Murrell is survived by his wife: Margaret Keener Murrell; and son: Michael Murrell, both of Lewisburg; and a brother: Ralph Murrell of Loretto.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors.
The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home after 3:00 PM Saturday for visitation.
Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mr. Murrell.
