Ora Holder

May 31, 1922 — July 13, 2013

Ora Mae Young Holder, age 91 of Lewisburg passed away on Saturday, July 13th, 2013 at NHC-Oakwood in Lewisburg, TN. A native of Maury County, TN, she was the daughter of the late James Scott and Betty Mae Pilkinton Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alonzo (Red) Holder in 1980, two sisters Gladys Young, Louise Young Waldon, one brother Walter Frank (Son) Young and two grandsons Lance Blalock and Dale Osborne.
Mrs. Holder was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed sewing and babysitting. She took great pride in her collection of Salt and Peppershakers, quilts and her beloved dolls. She was a member of Mooresville and Westvue Church of Christ.
Two daughters and their husbands Joyce and Thomas Blalock, Sandy and Dale Sanders of Mooresville, two brothers Otis Young of Culleoka, Owen Young of Franklin and one sister Christine Haskin of Scribners Mill, survive her. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and twenty-one great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Holder will be Tuesday, July 16th, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Brother Mac Wheeler and Reverend Frank Smith officiating. Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 15th, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home and after 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday. Mrs. Holder will be buried beside her late husband at Bryant Cemetery in Mooresville, TN.
Her eleven great-grandsons will serve as Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers: Chris Blalock, Tyler Blalock, Benton Thompson, Daniel Blalock, Jason Curry, Brad Lindquist, Hunter Ring, Frenchie Jenkins, Ray Cozart, Noah Brady, and Cole Blalock.
