Odell Rogers

October 8, 1924 — October 13, 2004

Mr. Odell Rogers, age 80 of Lewisburg, died Wednesday evening in St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

The Marshall County native was the son of the late Eddie and Pearl Isley Rogers and a member of the Baptist church. Before retirement, Mr. Rogers was a 44 year employee for Faber-Castell, where he was a supervisor. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He had a passion for children that showed in his coaching little league ball for many seasons. His free time was spent following the Atlanta Braves, fishing, and playing the guitar. His family fondly remembers him for his love of music, ball, and the children he influenced.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his first wife: Sara Elizabeth Lou Rogers in 1984; and two brothers: Jimmy and Winford Rogers. He is survived by his wife: Sandra Fearby Rogers of Lewisburg; 8 children: Joyce King of Lewisburg, Norma Fowler of Belfast, Randy Rogers, Becky Neese, and Gary Rogers all of Lewisburg, Scott Allen of Lewisburg, Rodney Allen of Fayetteville, and Sherri Griggs of Cornersville; 2 sisters: Lillie Gillum of Cornersville and Wilma Rogers of Lewisburg; a brother: Stevie Rogers of Lewisburg; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends after 2:00 PM Friday at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, and on Saturday until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Paul Lucas. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery, with full military honors.
