Mrs. Upchurch passed away Tuesday evening at her residence in Columbia.
She was the daughter of the late William R. and Callie Nix Hill, the widow of Charles F. Upchurch, and a member of the church of Christ. When asked, her children stated 'she was a mother first and foremost who provided us a wonderful home.' She was a great cook and loved her birds and irises.
Preceded in death by a son, Edward, she is survived by her other five children, Ervin Upchurch White Bluff, TN, Gary Upchurch Fayetteville, TN, David Upchurch Columbia, TN, Carolyn Upchurch Webster Huntsville, AL, and Nancy Kay Upchurch Knoxville, TN; twelve grandchildren: Chad, Michael, Caroline, Melissa, Anna, David Douglas, Kristy, Carrie, Phillip, Jared, Shawn, and Heather; four step-grandchildren: Daniel, Amy, Michael, and Troy; seventeen great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
