Mrs. Marie Woodward Woods, 94, a resident of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at NHC in Lewisburg.
Funeral services for Mrs. Woods will be conducted Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Reverend Claude McMillion officiating. Burial will be in the Round Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.
Born in Sherman, Texas on December 21, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Sherman Carl and Virginia Herrington Woodward. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her husband Tom Woods of Belfast. Mrs. Woods was a Dorm Director at Middle Tennessee State University and worked at Fitzgerald Realty. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lewisburg, where she served as an Elder Emeritus.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue Hill of Lewisburg; her daughter-in-law, Betty Woods of Chapel Hill; her grandchildren, Joe Wallace Hill, Bo Woods, and Wendy Woods Griffin, all of Lewisburg; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Bill C. Woods in 2004, and a sister, Doris Woodward in 2001.
Pallbearers will be Drew Davidson, Walter Bussart,Jim Richardson, Frank Miller, Jerry Beech, Bobby Beech, Billy Coble, Terry Wallace, Terry Lowe, Steve Martindale, and Jim Richardson.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg, or the charity of your choice.
