Biography
Mrs. Marie Inez Porter, age 85, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at St. Thomas Alive Hospice Center in Nashville.
A native of Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Connie Moore Barras and Elvin Barras. She was a homemaker and was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Porter.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Sells of Lawrenceburg, one son, Clyde( Cathy) Porter III of Murfreesboro, two granddaughters, Angela Jacobs of Etheridge, TN and Jenifer Daniel of Smryna. Four grandsons, Brian and Jason Risner of Lawrenceburg, Matthew Sells of Lawrenceburg and Clyde Porter IV of Smryna, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Porter's body will be cremated and there will be no visitation.
Graveside memorial services for Mrs. Porter will be conducted on January 2, 2013 at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia at 12:00 PM with Barry Sells officiating.
