Leonard Malone

August 20, 1924 — March 28, 2005

Mr. Leonard Clayton Scoot Malone, Sr., age 80 of Belfast, died Monday evening at his residence.

Scoot was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Rufus C. and Clara Prosser Malone, retired from Heil-Quaker Corporation and a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Ann P. Malone of Belfast; 5 children: Kathy Long of Jonesboro, GA, Ellery Clyde Malone of Woodbury, Cindy K. Malone of Lewisburg, Leonard C. Malone Jr. of Belfast, and James Lannie Malone of Belfast; 5 sisters: Geneva Williams of St. Charles, MO, Joyce Bore of Lewisburg, Ethlene Ervin of Shelbyville, Daisy Hamlin of Nashville, and Joan Thompson of Lewisburg; 4 grandchildren: 2 step-grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be Thursday at 11:00 AM in Middleview Memorial Gardens, with full military honors.
