John Perkins

Mr. John Thomas Perkins, age 64, of Lewisburg, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, after a 10 year illness.
Mr. Perkins was a native of Maryville, Tn. and the son of the late Roy T. Perkins and Daisy Dyer Perkins. In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by a sister, Suzie Perkins. He was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of the VFW and American Legion in Maryville, Tn.
Mr. Perkins was an 18 year veteran of the U . S. Marines , serving two tours in Vietnam as Gunnery Sgt. He worked as a Nuclear Biological Chemical Defense Specialist.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jennette Dunn Perkins; daughter,Tiffany(Capt-USMC Harry) Boyd of Charleston, SC; step son, Matt (Elizabeth) Hunnicutt of Lewisburg; brother,James Perkins of Tampa, Florida; sister,Gail Roccagli of Gainesville, Florida; sister in law,Carole (Tony) Mckibbon of Cornersville, Tn.;and 8 grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mr. Perkins will be held Saturday, June 13,2015 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with military honors. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
