Mrs. JoAnn Carter LaFever Prudhomme, 66, a former long- time resident of Lewisburg, passed away June 22, 2008 in Sulphur, Louisiana where she had made her home for several years.
A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Ruben and Virgie Lee Corbin Carter. She was homemaker, an avid quilter and gardener and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sulfur, Louisiana.
Mrs. Prudhomme is preceded in death by her first husband, Hugh LaFever; a son, William Sam Black; a grandson, William Jeff Hale; a step son, Christopher Lee Prudhomme.
She is survived by her husband; Micheal Roy Prudhomme of Sulfur, LA; three daughters, Wanda Crook of Sulfur , LA, Carol TonyBirdsong of Lewisburg, TN, Brenda Lee Harris of Mufreesboro, TN; two sons, James Gordon Carol Black of Dubock, LA and Ricky Lee Becky Black of the Laws Hill Community; a step son, Kevin Micheal Debbie Prudhomme of Sulfur, LA; three sisters, Mildred "Sister"Walter Bowman of Lewisburg, TN, Peggy Rex Tidmore of Milton, FL, and Robbie Jeff Myers of Milton, FL; two brothers; Pete Anna King and Willie "Bud" Carter both of Lewisburg, TN; eight grandchildren , six great grand children and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Prudhomme will be conducted on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with Reverend Rocky Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
