Jean Hunter

January 3, 1919 — May 8, 2013

Jean Hunter, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at NHC Healthcare Oakwood in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Miss Hunter was a native of Farmington, Tennessee and was a reporter at "The National Horsemen" magazine for over thirty-five years. She never missed attending the Celebration in Shelbyville, Tennessee from its beginning in 1939, for more than 65 years.

She was the daughter of the late Edgar Burt Hunter, Sr. and Edith Browning Hunter and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jerre Hunter Sanders and Jane Hunter Johnson.

She is survived by one brother, Edgar Burt Hunter, Jr. from Lewisburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Miss Hunter will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 2 PM at Temple Cemetery in Farmington, Tennessee, with Mark Ervin officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the memorial fund at the First United Methodist Church of Lewisburg.
